The very early Hurricane I was powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin C, using a Watts 2-bladed fixed-pitch wooden propellor and weighed 5416 lbs. Structurally, the aircraft combined the well-proven tubular metal cross-braced fabric covered Warren fuselage with fabric covered wings (as shown in the technical drawings below).
